Well....we were skunked. Had a great time in the woods and saw some cool stuff but came away with nada. Hiking uphill at a 45 deg angle for a half mile seems like an eternity!

The big hole picture is an air shaft for the mine. Somewhat sure the rock bases were for steam or coal powered engines for the coal cars.

Looks like an awesome site. Sure better than a ground covered with white stuff in any case ...

Wow Brian, I would have thought something would have turned up :confused: But with your luck a treasure hunting club has hit that place with 75 detectorists lol I hear you on climbing hills. It sounds easy until you are doing it for a bit. But I bet the return trip downhill was nice. I never give up on an area. If it were me, I'd return and dig some iron and hope to get some masked targets. I would also try way out where some of the workers may have gone for a lunch break? But that's easy for me to say sitting down in front of my computer lol At least you gave it a shot and it's off of your list of places to hunt.

WOW what a great place!!! Thanks for sharing those pics, very very nice. Sounds like you got some good hiking in- sorry you didn't find anything. Bummer ...

Handyman was just telling me about coal script- I'm surprised you didn't find any!

OH MAN! thats a great looking site. There just has to be something there. I wouldn't give up on it by any means.

Wow.. hard to believe such a great site did not produce anything... I would have scanned that entire rock wall as well. RickO

Incredible photos! That is the kind of place I love :yes: It might be worth hitting again.... it looks like there is a lot of potential area there.
