I had no desire to repeat yesterday's windy hunt at the Connecticut park, so today afternoon I hunted at a small local park. It turned out to be a very good hunt as the park yielded 21 silver coins. I bested the 15 silver coin day I had last year.

I also found two large tokens, one larger than a half dollar, a mess of wheat cents and clad, and a gold-layered ring.

This was my first silver coin of the day, a 1902-O Barber quarter.

This next one is a 1912 Barber dime still encased in soil.

And another silver coin still encased in soil, this one a Washington quarter.

Here are the 21 silver coins together.

The silver quarters, dated 1902-O, 1941, 1945, and 1947-D. The 1912 Barber dime has no mintmark.

The mercury dimes, dated 1923, 1924, 1926, 1936, 1941, 1942-S, 1943, 1943, 1944, 1944, and 1945.

The silver Roosevelt dimes.

Twenty four wheat cents. Some fared better than others.

The two tokens. I haven't tried to identify them yet.

And finally, two religious pendants, a gold layered ring, and an amusement token.

You mean you only found one barber quarter? :shocked04:

I'm sorry, but you knew I was going to say that

That is an incredible haul :thumbsup01: Especially since that park had been hit before. I know we will see more good stuff that you have dug from there in the next few days :) Congrats!

Hey, I tried for more, but the park was having none of it. There has to be more there though. ;)

Unfortunately I don't have much information on them. The larger token is apparently from a grease company? I can make out the words Use Albany Grease And Never Worry, but I haven't found any information on it. The other appears to be from what was a local jewelry store. :)
