I've been working some weird hours(to me at least) . 1pm to 9:30 pm. Today it was so nice I left for work early enough so I could hit a small park on the way to work. Only having about 1 hour to hunt I was able to find .76¢ in clad and one wheatie. This wheatie was a toughy. It was a broken but deep signal with low Fe. and Co. #'s but sweet enough to investigate. :thinkingabout:  lol at the 10 inch mark I finally see a coin. it was 41 wheatie........I think (lost it already lol). So I headed to work and at 9:30 I still had my E-Trac riding shot gun with me in the front seat on the way home.... what to do. >8) lol Two of my 1860's church sites are on my way home....... So I headed out to the pitch black picked bean field lol Dawned my headlamp and detector and started swinging lol  After about a hour and a half I found 2 buttons and what I think is half another button. :dontknow: I can't make out what would be missing :thinkingabout: Any guesses anyone? I'm tryin' to clean up the back marks on the eagle button now. I believe it's at least 1850-60's, (Dan, CWN, anyone... correct me if I'm wrong) I think it says Waterbury Scholville ____ ? I'm going to get it cleaned up a little better and do some research on it. The other is a steel back button with a anchor on it.

Nice finds Tim. I like night hunting. Do a lot of it in the summer when it gets hot. No body around either. Congrats and HH

Thanks Drew! |)
I needed that little :poke:
I cleaned it up a little better. Its marked SCOVILL Mg. Co. / WATURBURY CT. And according to that chart it would put it right around the 1850-1865 era  thumbsup01 Thats what we're lookin' for. thumbsup01
I went back to the same field the next night and found a 1864 IH, Probably one of the nicest field coins I've ever seen! I'll have to snap a picture of it and show it off a little.
Thanks again Drew! :beerbuddy:
