Hey everyone! We are having the most amazing weather in Connecticut. It's really nice to get out and hunt that's for sure.

I had about an hour before work to try out a new spot I found near my house. I was actually heading to the park where I found the two silver Washington quarters, but as I was driving down the road a sign up atop a driveway caught my eye across the street from the park. I discovered it is an open space that looked pretty old. I was told by a homeowner that 35 houses were planned for the spot but a lawsuit stopped it, causing the town buy it and make it the open space. Cool!!

Anyway, my second target was a 1951 Wheat penny. I had a feeling more goodies were to be found. Sure enough I got a great signal and popped out what I thought would be a Wheat penny because of its dark color. After picking it up and wiping away some dirt I soon realized I had a coin I'd never seen before. I saw the portrait of this dude and was like, What the heck kind of coin is this? I flipped it over and wiped away the rest of the dirt. Holy moly, it's a silver British six pence coin from 1906!!! :omg: Wow, I was pretty stoked!

The rest of the short hunt was uneventful except for a quarter spill where kids must have played at some point. I will definately be making a trip back to this spot.

Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting! |:cheering:

I love finding the foreign silver coins. They are definitely much more interesting than your second or third Roosie. Who knows....... you could find yourself in a time machine at some point with the dials irretrievably set to circa 1903 in Bavaria or wherever, and .........voila! You are all set with some currency and a steadfast determination for Victorian debauchery!

Congrats!
