Well, I hit the farm field for anther 7 hours, after the first 7 hours yielded a seated half dime. No old silver, but a King George I half penny!! Also a ton of buttons! Also, what appears to be an old mechanical pencil? The metal tested positive for silver.

I'd love some feedback on what you all think the date is on the half penny. I think I see an 8 at the place where the last digit should be. Given the date range for these is 1714-1727, that would make this one a 171:eyebrow: Does anyone else see it?

Thanks for looking!

great finds Matt :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: , first your large cent is a matron head type and has to be 1816 or newer to about 1838 . 1814 is a classic head type and definately not what you have , your King George could be a 1718 which is more uncommon than the 1720's type they are the most commonly found . very sweet finds again congrats :cheering: :cheering:

Fantastic hunt! :wow:

You got a great assortment of old coins and relics! I can't even imagine finding a coin dated 1718, that's almost 300 years old! Amazing!

Congrats on the neat finds! :clapping:

Hey there Dan, good catch, I took another look at the liberty head, and it's definately a 1819. The nine is a bit broken up so it looked like a 4. However under my magnifer I can see it's a 9, and also when I first dug it, I remember thinking another 1819:huh: I think I have found 4-5 in the last year.
