View Full Version : Short hunt yields my oldest Indian Head and a Merc...

I didn't have a lot of time to hunt today, so I returned to a nearby village hall that I've hunted many times in the past, just to see if I could find a few more keepers now that I know my E-Trac better.

My first good find of the day was a 12-46 signal right next to the sidewalk that was totally one-directional, but I decided to dig it anyway. I'm glad I did, it ended up being a 1924 Mercury Dime. Always dig those one-directional signals, especially if they sound really good from one direction.

My second good find was a fairly solid 11-33 Indian Head signal at 5 deep. Out popped a crusty Indian Head, and I could tell right away by the small date that it was an older one. I cleaned it up as best as could when I got home, and I'm 99% sure that it is an 1879.
