What a week, 2 cornfields, lots of oldies and my new oldest coin!

Hey diggers,

I have been using an 1874 atlas of our county to find all the old schools that are now cornfields. The 1874 atlas shows the locations of all the schools with a little drawing of a school and a label telling the number of the school. For example, School #6 is about 5 miles from here. A half mile East is &quot:daydream:ld school #6. I got permission to hunt both sites. Found lots of goodies. Thanks for looking and HH, Dave.

I only hit that second site for about an hour and a half and got 3 coins with the newest being 1853!!!!!

We named our local club Central Kentucky Research & Recovery Team because we really like the research aspect...

Hey Cat, thanks for commenting. I did some research and the small doll is actually a frozen Charlotte doll made of China (not white glass as I originally thought). Very popular during the 1860's to 1920's. Naturally, they got more fancy as time went by. Mine is so basic in form it makes me think it is 1880ish. These were used as a treat that came with your Christmas pudding! HH, Dave.

In 12 years of detecting I have only ever found on complete Crotal Bell, yet they get found in the hundreds here :girlcry: mine are usually like the one you found, the Liberty Half Dollar looks a cool find :wow:
