Detecting on conservation and town owned land Updated

:) Got a letter from the Conservation Commission.I can't believe they gave me permission to hunt the fields. They sent me a letter,but with some stipulations. I have to have a copy of the letter,all dug holes must be refilled and tamped down, good for only 2012. Also no activities can be conducted until after the July mowing of the fields. I think that their requests are fair enough. It does pay to ask.

As for town owned conservation / open space property, I have hunted a little following the fill, tamp & leave no trace procedure. I never formally sought or got permission when I was living within the same town. I probably assumed too much while I was a resident. You covered yourself by getting the ok.
