Today Ron and I set off searching for a 1930's to 1950's picnic grove that Ron had recently acquired permission for us to hunt.

The potential area was quite large and we wandered around for close to 4 hours looking for the actual grove. We didn't make contact
with the grove yet... but we did find just a few silvers and Wheat cents to keep us in pursuit.

Ron picked up two silver Washington quarters and a Wheat cent and I found a silver Canadian quarter and two Wheat cents.

The picnic area hid well in many acres of hills, flat lands and woods on two sides of a creek today. Sooner or later she'll show up. thumbsup01

The one silver I did find today is a coin I've been wanting to find for a while now and was happy to dig one today. The composition
of this coin is .800 Silver, .075 Copper (other 12.5% unknown). The 12.5% must be contributing to the rust. lol

After talking with the farmer for a while, it turns out there are several cellar holes and foundations from an early settlement further up the creek. We'll have to add those to our list too.

Looks like you got a sweet spot there, cellar holes? <: Did you check historic aerials or old maps to pinpoint the grove, should be a silver mine! :peace:

Good luck finding that grove. Just listen for the trash, gives away the hot zones every time.
