Had a very long silver streak (on my home turf) snapped today, but did pull a couple of interesting relics, which are firsts for me.

First is not only my first compact, but my second one as well. The larger one was heavy, and I had visions of a cache of silver coins contained therein, but it was all junk. The second one appears to have gotten me a little silver after all -- looks like an intact silver mirror behind intact glass (the black is tarnish, not broken glass). The compact is Pompeian Bloom, circa 1915-1925.

Also pulled a vintage token, my first ever, surprisingly. Its about the size of a silver dollar, and dates anywhere from 1858, when the store was first in business, 'til the 20s. Note the swastika logo, which before the WWII era, was considered a symbol of good luck. This token was worth $2, couldn't they have dropped a couple of Morgan's or $2 in silver instead?

All three were very deep (10-12 inches); I'm guessing there are old coins here as well; they are just too deep to hear, I'm afraid (and I dug every deep, iffy signal, and have a pile of ferrous to show for it).

Thanks for looking, and HH everyone.

I also would like to have 2 morgans vs the token. Nice digs Randy, that silver is there somewhere.

Cools finds, even though they are as shiny as you would have liked!

Congrats on the interesting finds. I'm sure that the compact got your heart pumping some. To bad it didn't have a silver dollar in it.

Nice digs Randy. I've dug the same compact myself:

I pried mine open just enough to see makeup still in it, but didn't think to check the mirror.
