Welcome from Illinois!

With some patience, perserverance and just a little luck you should enjoy this hobby immensely! Do you have a metal detector yet? If so, what kind?

There are plenty of helpful posts in the Metal Detecting Tips section of the forum.

Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress! thumbsup01

Thanks!

Yes I do have a detector, a Garrett Ace 250. I've found mostly clad so far and an older toy plane. Planning to go out tonight to a local woods.
