Well, I wasn't going to post my finds from tonight because I didn't want everyone to get sick of me, but then when I got home I discovered that one of my Indian Heads was dated 1864 so I decided to go ahead and post it. By far my oldest IH. My previous oldest was 1879. I don't think it has an L, at least that I can see.

These finds were at the same park I've been hunting lately, I went there again after work tonight. I found three Indian Heads dated 1864, 1898 and 1902, three wheat cents dated 1910, 1914 and 1916, and a 1946 Rosie.

I had trouble getting clear photos of the 1864 Indian Head, but I think the ones where I'm holding it in my hand came out the best.

Nice hunt there Tony. :clapping: Absolutely worthy of posting. I always look forward to your posts.
Three IH's and a silver is a successful hunt in my book.

Is the '64 an fat one? My earliest IH is a '64 as well. I have two of them but both are slims. crying01 Sooner or later. :dontknow:

Congrats on adding more silver and IH's to your very impressive numbers this year.

It's definitely a slim. I rarely dig fatty type signals but I may have to rethink that.

Love those Indian Head cents. :smitten: Congrats on that 1864! :clapping: I bet there are older ones at park too. On my E-Trac the fatty cents generally hit a Co in the mid 20's. Some do come in lower though.

Congrats Tony. That 1864 doesn't look like it seen too much circulation either. Just think, Abe Lincoln could have held that coin in his hand when he came to Illinois! Might be some seateds in that park too! I hope you find them! Dave.

Nice IH Tony! I can't see an L there- but there's another way to tell. The neck tip pointed or rounded, I can't remember which was which though... I will check and respond if someone doesn't beat me to it! lol

And a nice looking 1864 at that. Not a lot of years older then that one. Great finds.
