went to a freinds place he had a old house for us to hunt i had a good signal 12-45 could not find it dug it up twice finaly gave up my freinds grandson dug it back up and as luck would have it he found it 1887 seated dime it was his to keep i went on to find a merc dime 2 wheaties and a indian head still not bad but am stinging still from being to much of a hurry dennis

Congrats on the Merc and Indian. Too bad about the seated dime. At least a kid got it I'm sure he was thrilled to death.

Nice finds Dennis. Too bad about the Seated, but you probably made the kid very happy. :clapping:

I am glad you have posted pictures of your finds that day, because you forgot to show us that day your indian cent and two wheaties. We are pleased that my son found the seated dime. He is showing it to family members. Yes, this is my first post. I got my E-trac a few dys ago and got a long way to go to learn how to use it. It has been 20 to 25 years since I was a regular detector user. Thanks Dennis for getting me back into it. BigJohn

i did not know it was a indian until i cleaned it at home i was thinking it was just another wheatie dennis

That's what pinpointers are for! Angled or on-edge coins pinpoint a ways to the side of thier true location. If you don't have a tool to help locate coins in side of the hole, it's easy to give up on a signal.
