I was out of town K9 training for a week, and I finally found a couple hours to go swingin' today. I went back to the old park that I've pounded hard, not expecting much because the ground is so dry.

I started out with a clad dime, a memorial, and then hit these three, all at around 6-7 inches. My 9th and 10th Barber dimes, and a bonus V nickel.

If dry ground affects the depth much, ya can't prove it by me...[attachimg=1][attachimg=2]

:shocked04: Now this is a beautiful bunch of keepers. :clapping:

A big congrats on your 9th and 10th. :smitten: The V is sweet too.

I'd spend much more time at this park if I were you. You squeaked these nice ones... there's got to be more. :->

Congrats on the Barbers, it just goes to show you its never hunted out. WTG |:cheering: I also believe the moist ground gives more depth but I heard that dry ground helps to separate targets especially if there is iron on the ground.

I've heard the same thing....and have found it to be true at times.

Very nice finds, keep hitting that park! I too think the dry ground reduces halo effect on targets and improves target separation.

QUESTION, do you just not post the mercs you find, or do you not find any?

I don't find 'em...only one so far. No silver rosies, either. Seems like the only dimes I get are Barbers and Seateds...but I'm not complaining.

Maybe your are going too fast and Barbers dimes are a harder pressed silver so they ring harder? IDK, thats strange that you hardly find any ages inbetweeen
