Went back to the gun club area park to search more more items from the club.
With my F5 I gridded a section about 5X5 feet and dug every signal.

On my 2nd 5X5 section I had a jumping signal --it went from 56 to 58 to 59 to 60 to 56--a good solid tone but jumping. I dug and there was 2 pieces of lead about 3/4 of an inch apart after getting them out my Pro Pointer still showed some metal in the hole. I dug another inch and out came an Indian Head cent.

On another 5x5 gridded section the same jumping target happened---with almost the same results.......3 small lead bullets and another Indian Head penny. What a good detecting day !!!!!

I ended up with a wheaty, 2 IH's, a Buffalo nickel ,and a SL quarter and more lead from the old gun club.

Sweet digs! A SLQ is pretty high up on my most wanted coins list. Congrats!

Thats some nice detecting. Were you able to get any dates off of the coins? Scoring a SLQ is awesome also. Congrats and hope this park produces more for you.

Thanks !!!
The wheat is a 58, the IH's are 1883,1884, the Buff is from 29 and the SLQ is a well worn-no date.

:shocked04: Gridding small sections really paid off. :clapping:

A SLQ definitely makes the hunt successful... throw in a couple of hard to find IH's puts it over the top. <:

Congrats Dimeman.

It was a big suprise to see the silver SLQ come out of the dirt. I'm sure there are a few more old coins just waiting for me to find them.

Still digging good stuff at this location----even after at least 6 others tried their luck and have dug some noce coins. :smitten:
