My Student's Find

My student found this the other day and was very excited to finally have found something old. When it was dirty I thought it might be from the 19th century, but after he cleaned it I thought maybe early 20th century. I also thought it was a pendant. Any ideas? Thanks!

hey Drew can you post a closeup of the detail and whats the back like , is it solid of hollow?

Drew , to me it looks pretty recent maybe it was made in the last 70 or 80 years and possibley a decorative charm piece to a bracelet or similar jewelry piece , i suspect it was either gold or silver plated at one time .

I was afraid of that.....I was hoping the kid broke into the 1800s. Oh well, Thanks man. I'm off in two weeks....can hunt anytime you are willing and able. <:
