Went out with some young friends of my sons today, shoulda seen the holes they dug lol, i kept having to check their hits , they are new at it , i told them to come over as i got a good hit , turned out to be a 1852 canadian half penny (a 1st for me), they were amazed lol, also got 3 wheats , 1920d oldest , the ground is rock hard ,,,, we need a bunch of rain

You are right... very, very dry here. crying01 I benched my detector over a week ago until we get some rain. :crying02:

Can't complain with the 1/2 penny. That is an old one for sure. Hope you can get some rain soon.

<;) Nice find Canadien or American. I wonder why they didn't just call it a Penny. Also, Why call it a token when it was used as currency?

Wow, that's a great find, Dave! It came out of the ground looking nice too! I don't mind holed coins at all, I think it adds history and character to them.

Wow Dave,

Did you find that in Iowa? Iowa didn't become a state until 1851, before that it was just Indian territory, so they don't get much older, at least in Iowa. Nice find!
