Got out tonight and hit a soccer field near my house ( I went the other night and pulled a watch and a silver ring)...........Tonight my first signal was a 39 on the Safari and I thought it was going to be silver but it turned out to be another watch in pretty rough shape. I kept swinging and was hitting a few deep quarters and got another nice signal that I though was going to be another deep quarter and cut the plug and saw the silver edge and thought oh a rosie.............then I realized it wasnt a rosie it was an 1835 Capped Bust Dime that looks like it was dropped yesterday. Worked around where I pulled the coin and pulled a couple old buckles I'll have to make sure I get back to that spot.

That coin would also be a 1st for many of us, me included. Very high on my wish list. It does look like it was dropped in mint condition. I haven't seen many capped bust silvers posted lately. Huge congrats on that recovery. Maybe next time you can get that rosie......

Drew, I'll try to take one tomorrow night and post it. The pics on here are taken even before I rinsed it off.

Hey Scott, question....now we're approaching the calendar halfway mark, where do you stand vs last year with your silvers? Also, I can't hunt on Sunday as my son is here from LA. I may be available at some point Monday, as he goes back Monday. Talk soon, Shoe

Drew I'm at 90 silvers for the year now. I'm a little off pace from last year. I'm on pace for 180 but last year was 212. Although last year I think I was at a lower count at this time of year. Well see how the rest of the year goes. It would be nice to beat last year but if it doesn't happen I'm ok with it since I've got far better quality finds this year.

:congrats: on coin of the month. That's a find of a lifetime!

The rest of you should know that SafariScott pulled that coin from the grounds of the high school I've worked at for the last 10 years. I've literally walked over it many times. :shocked04:verreaction:

It just goes to show you never know what can show up under your coil. Keep swinging away people!

Man, she's beautiful. I found her older sister back in March about 6 down under tree roots on a farm built in 1790....:
