Hang in there, look at your past finds, do some remembering of how great it was to find them. Do a rain dance.......something, just hang in there

Yeah...we're getting your heat in the next few days :-\ I had a dry couple of weeks of late so I experimented with cleaning techniques. Things will perk up, your heat wave is ending soon and the keepers will be jumping out of the dirt

Likewise here. I haven't hunted for about a month. I'm waiting for a field to be cut. I think it will be the last field cut. The hay is about 3ft high. Hopefull this comming week it will be cut. I might even get something to post.

I feel your pain, I can not remember the last time it has been this dry. My ground is like concrete, cant wait until fall.

Tot lots and shallow water creek/old swimming hole hunting are still options!

I've done both these past couple weeks... shallow water hunting for the first time.

I had a good hunt in Southern Iowa today. Found a 42 wheat, 37 merc, and indian headed nickel. The ground is concrete hard. It's easier with a sharp hand spade though. I use a round file to sharpen it, although my spade has two cracks in it from digging in this ground and has about had it.
