I got out for a few hours today with OxShoeDrew. We tested out a couple cellar holes in the next state over only to find that they have been hit pretty good. I did manage to find this one keeper and a first for me an 1857 Flying Eagle penny.

How about that!! Very cool find, Flying Eagle Cents don't turn up too often! It seems that they don't usually hold up too well in the ground, but yours doesn't look too bad. The date is nice and clear.

Very nice recovery. I have only gotten 1 and its about in the same shape as yours. Tony's dead on, they don't show up that often.
