What do you guys think?...
Last week I pulled these 'coin slots' from a yard of a house built in 1902.
The original owner was quite wealthy and apparently, (told to the owner by two neighbors), had an illegal gambling structure on the property during the prohibition years. Descendants of this man currently hold ownership in one of our casinos in town.
Each of the denomination of coin I placed behind the slots, fit each one perfectly. They sure seem like that is what they are... but of course, I might be wrong. :thinkingabout:
What do you all think?

Re: What do you guys think?...
hey Jkress , those are reeds from a pump organ or very similar musical instrument . they even have a stamped letter on each one to represent a musical pitch . google pump organ and you should see a picture of how the reeds looks in an actual organ . the semi-portable organs very popular items around the 1870's to just after the 1900's .

Nicely done Dan! :clapping:
I googled pump organ reeds and sure as heck... that's exactly what they are.
I can't even begin to wonder how you could so quickly identify the items. I'm very impressed.
Apparently there is no end to your knowledge of old stuff.... perhaps you should consider changing your name to delipedia. lol
Thanks again. You are a real asset to this site.
