Welcome to the forum! :waving:
Was the parking lot gravel or dirt? It looks like you found one wheat cent and maybe a silver dime?
Yes, mixture of dirt and some gravel. It’s been around since the late 1800’s. It’s only been inactive for the last 15 years.
It was a 1947 Dime. And a 1956 wheatie! The rest is clad. And a old matchbox! Just about 50 mins of detecting involved.

Nice job! Old parking lots are hard to dig but very rewarding!
Nice job! Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum!
I hope you can get back...sounds like there's more goodies there! :thumbsup01: What detector do you have and welcome!
Congrats on all the finds especially the silver. God Luck on your return hunt. WD
Headed back this evening after work. Going to try some new stuff on my detector!

Welcome. Nice haul. Keep the finds coming. :)
Welcome to the site! Nice hunting choice for sure. I have one park that I hunt that has been hit hard for many years by countless people. Good finds are very few and far between. But one day I decided to try the grassy islands in a large parking lot. Lo and behold, it must have been virgin ground. Pulled out tons of old coins and artifacts over several months. Guess nobody thought far enough outside the box. But parking lots have tons of traffic from the time they are put in, leaving lots for others to later find.
Dang!! that's a great hunt for less than a hour!! :congrats:
Welcome to the forum!
Thanks!
