Public Park
Hi Everyone,
Hope you all are having a great Fall. Time of the year to wipe the nose on the sleeves while detecting. Went to a public park for 8 hrs total and worked my butt off climbing hills etc and it paid off. Found a "medicinal" marijuana pipe....allegedly (my innocent mind thought this was a faucet handle), silver war nickel, 2 silver Washington and a merc. V nickel, 2 buffs. Oval thing with hole in center, I have no idea what it is. States on flat backside "made in occupied Japan". Eagle button and pocket knife. Silver earring and silver small ring that screamed silver in my ear. Really bizarre sound on detector. Silver Saint Christophe pendant that is French from what I read up on. All brass shotgun shell. Found 3 of these.
Just great time of year to be out. Happy Hunting. Need to load another batch after this weekend. Found a cool coin from a country that I never knew existed! Going back to that old house again TH and Fri. Just keeps popping out goodies.

That's a wonderful hunt!I hope that's a large park with more space to hunt! :perfect10:

Lots of great finds! :congrats:
It's always a nice bonus to find a V Nickel from the 1800s.
Nice to know that there are still parks out there that aren't hunted out.

Thanks Everyone! More park to be had and I took the day off TH and FRI this week. Told my wife it is "Darryl Days". Going to hit the park again tomorrow unless the permission I might have gotten today for a 1850s house pans out. Another house in my city that is one of the firsts.

Wow! That's quite the haul!! Congrats!!

Very nice group of finds. What does the back of the button look like?

Great finds! It's so difficult to find much in parks in our area, as so many have been hunted to death. That you're finding those items gives hope that not all have been hit that hard.

There are still spots DOD, I am just going slow and deep. It really grinds on the patience, but it pays off.
Definitely Del - just posted my last weekend trip, wheat penny city. Strange how that can happen. My guess is that in the 1980s or 90s people cherry picked the silver. That is what my dad and I did.

fyrffytr1 - back of button is a little oxidized and crunchy. Debating how to clean it. Almost seems like it is iron. This winter I will give it a go (which is right around the corner here in WI)
