Silver!
Hi everyone!
Got out this morning detecting Lake Michigan for maybe 2 hours. I didnt expect much this time of year since few people are swimming yet in the low 40s temp water. But I had hoped to maybe find some items that got washed out of the beach during the winter storms.
Well, my hunch was right! I managed some clad, a piece of brass rod, a toy and misc. junk. But in one of the banks of gravel washed out of the beach I got a good sounding 12-44 signal. I was thinking another dime, but was amazed when I saw a ring in the scoop! It was black as could be other than the large bright amethyst. I could see there must have been maybe diamond chips or another accent stone along either side of the amethyst but they were long gone. That ring has obviously been lost a very many years to be in that condition. Luckily with a lot of hand polishing it started looking pretty good again! Glad to finally get my first sterling ring of the year.
