I don't even know if this would be considered a buckle. Is this part of a bridle? If so, where would it go? I think it is brass and there are no markings on it.

Well, I asked Mark Parker of Eastern&Western Treasures magazine and he is stumped. He thinks it may be type of halter square but isn't sure. Neither he nor I can find anything like it on the internet.
Unusual piece, but I know I've seen one before somewhere. Love to figure that one out!
I would agree as to a type of halter square buckle
That's what Mark thought but we can't find an image on the net. I was also thinking it might be part of a military web belt style harness used for a backpack or something along those lines. I know it's not a banner type find but I sure would like to know what it is.Quote:
