"I'm in the club"
Got out with Donnie B and Ron yesterday , the weather was about as perfect as you could get here in Connecticut in November  Donnie gave Ron and I an invite to his sites where he has been doing pretty well at , this area has many old cellar sites with tons of stone lined pens and over grown fields all open swinging pretty much. At the one large site they must of lived there for almost two centuries as there are scraps of metal from colonial times to the early 1900's . Attachment 67374 Half of a heart shaped locket from the early 20th century to my surprise it was gold plated Attachment 67375 . one of finds that made me smile was finding one of these NY Municipal Police buttons Donnie and Ron's wife Jessica have found and learning about the interesting political history they hold with New York from 1845 to 1857 , needless to say I was very intrigued . So I was pleased to find one in such nice shape Attachment 67376 only to see it glimmer with all the gold gilt when cleaned Attachment 67377Attachment 67378 :wow:. My day was already made well before I found this button however because earlier I had found a coin that's been on my list for some time now . Attachment 67379 A 1794 liberty cap cent :loveit: a very thick coin so I knew it had the "one hundred for a dollar" on the edge :cheering:needless to say i'll be taking my time cleaning this one . a Side from these I scored a couple of Indians (1881 , 1898) an oxknob about 5 buttons and some interesting clasps Attachment 67380, good day for a short hunt !
I want to give a shout out to Donnie (the "assist man" ) for the generous invite :notworthy:

Great job Dan. That button cleaned up beautifully!
Can't wait to see the cleaned up 1794 liberty cap!!:congrats:

Those are some beautiful finds! The police button sure is a winner! But you've got my curiosity going how that liberty cap cleans up and which variety it is. It's a rare one either way, but if theres tiny stars between the denticles on the reverse, that would be next level amazing! Congrats on a great hunt, and looking forward to the follow up pics!

Absolutely stunning finds. I hope that one day I can find a 1794 Liberty Cap; however, until then I will always remember the excitement of seeing one dug live. Thanks for letting me listen to it. After you clean it let's put it in a plastic case and bury it so we can listen to it again. Congrats on the Municipal Police Button too. It's gorgeous! It was a great November day and one that I will always remember.Attachment 67381

Now there's a happy looking Guy ! Congratulations Dan !

Wow, 1794 Large Cent! Amazing gilt left on that button too. A great looking pile of finds and a great looking beard. Happy digging, Dave.

Huge congrats Dan ! It had always amazed me that you of all people hadn't managed to put your coil over a Liberty Cap. Now that the hex is broken, you'll be tripping over them.
-
Great finds Dan. Looks like a very successful hunt. Love the button!
-
Awesome dream coin! If you clean it up please post a pic.
-
Fantastic Dan! Congrats on the early Liberty Cap. I've see a few dug but that coin still eludes me. Be sure to post a cleaned up shot!
