That is a beautiful bell and old too! I'm not 100% sure but Roland Frodigh at Hallowed Ground Restorations could probably restore that for you.
Still a very cool find Al :thumbsup01:
That's a very nice looking bell, damaged or not. At least it's complete!
Congrats on the petal bell Al , its a shame its cracked up so
nice find al mate, still cant stop thinking about that powder mill site....omg can you imagine whats buried in the ground at that place ?
Donnie, thanks for the reply and info. Don't know if the cost of restoration vs value would be in my favor.
Jeff, Always wanted to find one of the big ones, maybe the next one will be in better shape.
Thanks D.O.D., I can sort of display it with most of the good looking side showing.
Dan, thanks for the congrats and you are right....its a SHAME.
That's a good looking bell, even with the crack. Very rare! :thumbsup02:
Very nice large crotal Al! She quite a large one as well. Perhaps some gentle bending can get that one side back into place. I've found boiling my bent metal items in water, then holding them in a dish towel while using gentle applied force can get some of those bent parts back into reasonable place.
John
Beautiful crotal, a shame that it's damage but still a nice find.
I got one of those big ones too.
