Hi all,
I went out to one of the beaches known to have given up a lot of finds in the past. Not too much to speak of other than a lot of old pull tabs until I ran across a huge encrusted iron piece. The area is quite eroded, so likely exposed it recently. Stopped at the local museum and they said to bring it back Monday when the ranger would be in. But the folks there asked where I found it, and it was in the right place. They think it likely is from the 1715 wreck and looked similar to an iron spike found previously-only mine is much bigger. All I know is it weighs a ton!
Might drop by the Mel Fisher museum tomorrow and see if anyone there may have an idea. I did run the CTX over it and got mostly the expected iron grunts, but a couple spots gave some repeatable good high tones, of course it could be falsing too.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9a55337d41.jpg
