Got back to that site where they pulled sand from under our 100+ year old boardwalk. They had moved it around some so I tried it agian today. Came up with a 1915-S Wheat and a 1904 V Nickel, rough shape.

Hey, that's a great looking V, compared to our area. You can see all the details. Nice finds. Gotta love them moving dirt around. Do you dig any of the iffy targets? When I do moved dirt around here, I noticed a lot of good finds came from less than stellar sounding hits. Some were junk, but some were coins on edge. I'd hit that area any time you can.
ya Ron thats still got some good detail to it , very nice coin . i bet that place is still loaded with goodies. congrats and keep the finds comming , were officially snowed in for a while now and seeing the finds helps with the cabin fever.
Very nice, Ron! I'm not sure I would consider that one to be in rough shape. I can clearly see many of the details, and liberty is quite legible. That is a very nice nickel. Most of the nickels I dig up out here are in sorry shape, but that one really held up well. thumbsup01
Very cool Ron. Keep going!

great shape! pick them snockers off using your finger nail.looks like they'll pop right off.
Beautiful V nickel Ron, congratulations! :)
WTG Ron. That's a beautiful V Nickel. Very nice detail. I've only dug one V and yours look 10 times better than mine. thumbsup01
Wow, lots of good detail on the obverse, I hope that spot can deliver a few more far ya!
Very nice V nickel.... a quick bath in acetone should clean it nicely. Rinse with alcohol and then hot running water. Blow dry. RickO
Nice finds Ron. You gotta take me there before I move to Nevada. (Please)
Come on over John! It's right there in front of the construction on the new Haunted Castle near the roller coaster!
Thanks for all the suggestions and commets folks, Guess this is a better find then I first realized! :smitten:
It was coated in kinda a green sand crust when I found it and I didn't know what I had!?! I gave it a soak in vinigar & salt and then rinsed it, that's about all I've done to it. This is only the 2nd V I have found so far.
