I was one of the 1,000s who hoarded $2 bills in the 70s when they came out. We all thought they were a new bill produced to commemorate the bicentennial. I guess they've been around for 150 years. We just got rid of our stack of 1976s because they never appreciated in value. What made me do a quick search was your reverse is not what I remember. I bet yours is really worth something! Nice find. I haven't seen any Silver Certificates in circulation the last couple of decades. Somebody raided Grandma's sock drawer.
Unfortunately this is not a silver certificate, but it is the transition era of the notes, with the "will pay to the bearer on demand" at the bottom.Quote:
