Wow, you did really good! Love the script C button. Any discernible back mark? Great Hibernia (half penny?) too. Those escutcheon plates are nice and decorative. All in all a great bunch of keepers. Thanks for sharing and happy hunting, Dave.
Very nice, looks like you picked a great spot! That Hibernia looks to be in nice shape too. Well done and congrats!
Thanks ,no back mark that I can see.
Wow, great hunt. I love that button, such an awesome find. :congrats:
Nice looking Hibernia as well :clapping:
Amazing finds! Seems you guys find lots of Confederate items! Congrats!
Thanks!, Confederate items are my favorite to dig.
Sweet Hibernia! Nice relics too!
Nice work Calabash. Pitch mode with the 11" X35?
Pitch with HF 9 round 28 kh. Going back Wednesday..
That's it Don. Pack up we're heading for North Carolina!! :omg:
Absolutely gorgeous button. I spent 10 of my 24 years of metal detecting on Civil War sites and never found a Confederate button. I had guys digging them all around me and never got my coil over one. It's funny how things work out.
Thanks! Heres one pull up to a new site dig a good one in the first 5 holes. Then dig another 100 holes and find nothing. Explain that to me....lol
Very nice Calabash and congrats on the confederate button! Cleaned up quite nicely.
John
Thanks! The last three or four confederate buttons before the C button were toasted. It was a welcome sight to see a good come out of the ground..
Great Cavalry Button "CD" and the Hibernia is a looker !
Anybody got a button book? Could you look up the C button.. It has no backmark...Thanks.
Calabash, it looks like Tice CSC 215A3 (Albert's CS 130). Attachment 65617Attachment 65618The book states your backmark would be unusual for this button.
Thanks Donnie!
No problem CD. I love buttons. I dug Civil War sites for 10 years and never found a Confederate Button. I found Union buttons and a New York Militia button but never a Confederate. Maybe one day me and Danny (Del) could come down and you put us on a spot where we could find one.
