Have you guys stopped the finds of the month ?? I see nothing for this year.
It is hammerless.
Yes, it is loaded.
I found this today at a permission, house was built in mid 1700's, at the very top in tiny letters it says J.PO Boston63853
The house that it was in (in a box) is 1781, and I have found things in the yard, so perhaps the Aunt found it while gardening.
Cool, Thank you. A friend found it in a box of coins that an Aunt left in his home.
6264462643Can anyone tell me what this is ? I have no clue.
I have something just about like that , I found it at the old colt firearms factory in Hartford.
Could be the top to an old salt. Some had the slot for the little spoon.
61253the top section looks like a diamond date mark.
Proud to say that my great, great, great Grandmother LaRue delivered Abe.
Perhaps it is on another wheel with numbers and the Y and Z. X, Y and Z are the three least used letters, Z 7% of the time, X 15% and not sure about Y., But then again, it may be from a country...
Fantastic !!!
6015160152I am pretty sure that what you have is the top dial portion of an old punch type embossing machine.
Thanks, I knew about the peroxide...I was messing with my sister.
So, I'm hunting an old 1700's site today and find a few items. Two flat buttons, and what I think to be silver plated buckle, and a harmonica with the wood still in it...cool. But when I get them...
Wow, thank you so much.
59614Found online what looks to be a match for my silver knee buckle.
59613I tried to attach this to "mystery brass item" but it would not let me. I believe that it is an old butterfly valve.
5960859609Not sure about this mark either. Funny how my embalming/ funeral directing homework is always in the background.
Cool finds
Kinda strange looking, Thank You
