    Re: ok im lost !!!!!

I see your point, Lee. You are absolutely correct. The sales person does have a responsibility to provide correct information when asked.
Perhaps KellyCo has gotten to big to be effectively managed....

    Re: ok im lost !!!!!

    I'm curious.
It's obvious that KellyCo messed up. But they are merely a dealer, aren't they?
Who is the manufacturer of the coil? It would seem to me, that if I am going to manufacture a coil for a...

    Re: Kellyco Email Ads

I have memberships to almost as many online forums as Rudy, and have yet to receive an unsolicited email from KellyCo.
I have, however, received unsolicited email from Burger King, to whom I have...

    Re: What say you Kellyco

Nothing unlawful or slimy going on here folks. Just a very common error.
The website you folks are looking for is bigboystoys. NET
Kellyco had lawfully and rightly purchased the domain...
  5. Re: Suggestions for detecting around Shepherdstown/Sharpsburg/Harper's Ferry, WV

I don't spend a lot of time on the east side of the state, but, if you can make it to Droop Mountain, that's about the most popular spot anywhere near where you are going. The only restrictions,...

    Re: Scratched coil question

All my coils get covers. And all my detectors are washed after every outing. I also wax the shiny ones every now and then. It's cheap, easy, and keeps the value of my detectors up there. Plus, I find...

    Re: Any Pinpointer Recommendations?

Mentally, I have long ceased differentiating between pin pointers and probes. Which isn't necessarily a good thing.
I think your recommendation for the Pro-pointer is spot on, Tony. You can't go to...
  8. Re: Lesche may be the best, but... Fiskars Big Grip...

They are cheap, and readily available.
But other than that, I found the 'V' tip does not do well in gravel, and the tang inside the handle rusts quickly. I about broke my wrist when the handle...

Re: Why handheld why not inline

The inline probe does not drain the battery. When the inline probe is on, the detector's coil is off, and vice versa. The detector is going to use the same amount of power, regardless.

    Re: Bigfoot = Big price

People are nutz, aren't they? The Bigfoot does not go very deep at all. It's only selling point is that it covers a lot of ground very quickly.
That, and they aren't making any more of them...

    Re: grease for O-rings

Long-term use notwithstanding, Petroleum Jelly is petroleum based. Of course, it is to petroleum what the hydrogen peroxide in your medicine cabinet is to rocket fuel. ;)

  13. Re: Old Homesite with Backfilled Foundations/Basements

Absolutely! Go for it! Mud streets predated the brick streets, and lots of coins got dropped and buried in the mud. Depending, of course, on location.
Even modern streets are worth detecting under...
  14. Re: What's the difference between a $200, $500 and $1000+ detector?

Low end machines typically do not have a threshold. They are referred to beep-dig machines. This goes back to what Epi-hunter was talking about concerning volume and target audio. Without a threshold...

    Re: Any Pinpointer Recommendations?

I recommend the Sun Ray inline probe. I have one on each of my detectors that can use them.
People claim they add weight, which is true, but it's only 10 ounces for the entire unit. If weight is...

  17. Re: Old Homesite with Backfilled Foundations/Basements

Very much worthwhile. While the basement/foundation area might not be the most productive. You've still got the rest of the yard or property. If you know how long ago they were demolished, you might...

I was detecting before I met my bride, so it's always just been something I do. However, she fully supports me in anything I undertake, the same as I support her. We prefer to do things together, so...

    Re: Tumbling question

Be careful using that tumbler. It can build up pressure and force the lid open, causing a real mess! That's why I just use water. Also, with the HF tumblers, ensure the drive belt tension is properly...

Poll: Re: metal detecting in general

My advice is to start easy. Get to know your machine. The best way to do this is to hit the tot lots. Stop looking for deep coins right away and just learn what signals and sounds buried coins give....

    Introduction post

    Hello,
I've been coin and jewelry shooting for a while and have gone through several (19) detectors since starting this obsession. I've never owned anything other than White's detectors primarily...
