I looked it up too and found it wasn't valuable. I thought for sure that there would be a taker on one of the websites it is posted on.

I bought this jewelry box at a yard sale for its contents. When I polished it I noticed the name "Griffin" etched into the top. If anyone here has that name and wants the box, let me know. I don't...
We need to add a "Like" button so I could hit it several times on these replies.
Long story short I found it and some more stuff cleaning out a family friends basement back in the early 1960s.
I am sending this catalog to a lady in Ohio. She is part of the Troy history group.
Thanks. I will see what I can find. I also have a lead on another website.
I am looking for anybody that may be related to any of the four men listed at the top of the page.
I am guessing you come to Atlanta?
We are being invaded down here in south Georgia by Yankees!:lol:They eat everything they can get their hands on!
I just saw this post. I like the look on your Dad's face holding the Yankee slug. Can't wait to see one of him with the CS ammo! In case I didn't tell you all of these came from Antietam battlefield....
There aren't many places left to hunt there now. Last time I was there was with my brother in September 2019. We found two spots that we could hunt and only pulled a couple bullets and a flat button....
I can't take credit for all the bullets. I inherited a lot from my last remaining brother when he passed away in 2019. As for the buttons I rely on my ability to read the books I have and also use...
Here is one tray of my bullet collection. I hope your dad will like what I send him. All came from camps around Hagerstown, Md. Hagerstown was in the middle of Antietam, Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg...
I thought this would bean easy one to answer but it isn't. At least not for me. The general service eagle button came out in 1854 but the backmark you show dates to the 1840s. This is a cuff button...
Nice finds. Does the screw have a hole in the head from the side? If so, it might be to a drawer handle.
I found similar one at a native American site. It was identified as Continental Navy. Probably a trade item between the military and native Americans.
Heck, I would be happy to dig a primer like those. I can only dream about finding coins like that!
I hope you learn the 2 a lot so I can call for help if I ever get one.;) For now the 1 will have to do me.
Very nice finds. I have a few .69s but a .75 is on my bucket list. I may have to make one last trip up north to have a chance to find one though.
Congratulations. I really like the buttons.
Thanks for the link. Now I have to look through all my buttons hoping I might have one.
Lucy, you got some splainin to do! What are nipple buttons?
Good on Ya!
Very nice.
That sounds plausible, Is that a ramrod mark on the top ball?
