I'm not a expert. But I believe 950 just refers to the purity, meaning 95% pure. It could refer to 950 pt, sometimes just marked plat. Or could be 95 percent pure silver also known as Mexican silver,...
The ring is marked 18K and 950. I wondered the same thing. I just assumed 950 was probably silver. Maybe I'll dig my metal test kit out and do a scratch test.
