Thanks, guys!
Roger, they don't come out with that kind of tone and sharpness around here...especially from a corn field.
Jared, this corn field was a ball field from the turn of the century...

Woods,Jeff. Things are starting to freeze in the parks now. :(
Hey everyone,
After work today I hit my most difficult site. It's a corn field where there are plenty of post civil war coins waiting for me...I find them every so often but it's tough sledding as...
Good eye, Tony!
Thanks! I was thinking 1831 too.
That button might be a whizzer? ...and jaw harps are so rare. The CONN part of CTs is always visible. Real old pewter button! Good day, Roger! How'd Frank do?
Hey everyone,
The weekend was hunt-able in the afternoons...so I was able get out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The ground was frozen in some areas of a park I was at but I could dig most targets. ...
I don't know where this site is, nor do I want to know, but have you heard about the Civil War cannon testing grounds in north west CT? They were producing the largest cannons the world had ever...
Congrats, Dave! That's going to cost you to mail it home
So cool, John! You should get a screen shot of the pics on that website before they come down, print it and keep it with your example. Congrats!
Interesting, he doesn't bring up my point at all.
:hystericallaugh:
Yeah, all the things you mentioned are the reason we have all moved to DD but I was thinking one possible advantage with concentrics is that your swing doesn't have to be perfect....
Wow,Jeff, that really looks like the outline of a chicken hawk! Still a great find! I'm still looking for any type of mourning find. Congrats!
Happy New Year, everybody! :beerbuddy: I hope this year is an improvement. :crossfingers:
My first detector was a concentric coil Bounty Hunter. Conceptually, I understand the differences...
Thanks, guys! I dug mine in colonial fields where you dig everything...I could see chances going down at a park.
I never know if those are whizzers or buttons. I'd guess whizzers have two holes, and they're further apart, but what do I know :dontknow:
Why do you think the deer was shot. Jeff?
Best of luck to...
Everyone says gold VDIs nickel-low... but why do gold wedding bands ring up up much higher? I only found two, and both ring up a bit higher than zincolns.
I understand the "coin" shape helps...
Darren, that 1875 is sweet!!!
I love to find dogtags, and a pot pipe is still on my bucketlist
Those tarp grommets sound wonderful.
Tokens are rare around here, although throw a rock...
Thanks guys. Yeah, Tony, it could be one of those.
Here's some better pics.
Thanks, fellas! Yesterday, this 1822 was found after 5 min of digging, I couldn't believe how deep it was. Almost gave up, thinking it was deep iron. I kept digging as it was a perfect quarter...
Last week's foot of snow was gone after we got two additional inches of rain the other day. Only the top few inches of soil were frozen today, so I was able to get out for some digging.
The ground...
Good going, CD! What kind of site is that? Looks like heavy machinery tracks everywhere. How come you're using such a small coil out there in the fields? Lots of trash around? :congrats:
Merry Christmas, Roger,
I grew up in Norwalk and didn't know about the airport listed in your link...but I distinctly remember a huge airport hanger that was repurposed as a bowling alley. I'm...
Holy Cow, Dan! Missed your portion of this hunt! Saw Donnie's. That place has been amazing for you over the years. Dave well? What's he swinging these days?
Great going! :perfect10:
Merry Christmas, everyone... and best wishes for the new year. :):detecting::waving:
