    April 7th, 2013 - WHAT A DAY !!!

    Hello all...

    Back to Boston to deliver my son home and stop at the same green I've hit 11 times now... I arrived @ 11:30 and see plenty of fresh plug cuts... all neatly back in, but someone has been here recently... and I'm sure this place has been hammered... but I'm staying and determined to get at least 3 keepers...

    In the 1st 90 minutes I had one wheatie... then on the back (this place is one city block in size) I got a 22/24 @ 7-8... Repeats 90 deg out... Come on fatty I said...

    Its a FATTY !! No shield on the back means 1859 !!! but wait... I see 1492... stamped on it...

    [attachimg=1]

    [attachimg=2]

    Over the next few hours I recovered a few relics...

    [attachimg=3]

    A nice musket ball... Then I for an Indian Signal that was partially masked by a close nail... but I got it anyways :-)

    1903 Indian Head Penny...

    [attachimg=4]

    26/28 Conductive Signal that was spotty @ 7-8...

    George Washington Commemorative Button

    [url=http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/george-washington-commemorative-button-pc48]http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/george-washington-commemorative-button-pc4/url]

    Button from Jacksonian Era (1824-1840) -- It depicts a Bust of Washington facing right, on a raised square panel. M/mark circle of rays. 15 mm -
    This button is listed in Record of American Uniform and Historial buttons by Alphaeus H. Albert (page 415 PC 48)

    [attachimg=5]

    [attachimg=6]

    Then I got a Tomback button...

    Next up... 32/33 conductive @ 6... Pretty decent signal...

    I see... A CANNON !!!! Its a War of 1812 Artillery Corps Button !!!!

    [attachimg=7]

    It is in pretty decent shape and has some nice detail left...

    2 Indians, 2 Wheaties, War of 1812 Button, Mystery Face Button, Musket Ball, and nice Strawberry Relic... from a hammered site :-)

    [attachimg=8]

    Happy Dance...

    HH !!
    Paul

    Thank you :-) It's been an interesting year as I'm more focused on those mid-conductors and slowing down... That has yield me some nice relics and missed coins in the trash...

    What an incredible hunt you had, Paul! <:

    That War of 1812 button is amazing!

    I really like the 1859 Indian Head with the 1492 counterstamped date too. That is a real curiosity piece. A fatty Indian Head is always a great find, but the counterstamped date really adds some thing to it.

    Congrats on the fantastic day! |

    Tony, thank you sir :-) I'm sure when I look back that the War of 1812 Button will be one of my best finds of the year... The George Washington Commemorative Button is interesting as well... I've look pretty extensively and I can't seem to find another one unearthed... *shrug* toss in the 1492 stamped Fatty... and I'm still floating :-)

    EUREKA!!!! I got it!!!

    I know why the 1492 on the 1st year of the indian cent!!!!!!!

    It was an early political statement..just like today, where people say that Columbus is the first one responsible for the atrocities incurred by the American Indians.......

    At least that is my guess

    great button Paul , the eagle on cannon is a U.S. Corps of Artillery button and was used from 1814-1821 and in very nice shape . the other button is a sweet one as well and as you know a commemorative Washington button probably to celebrate his 100th birthday that would of taken place in 1832. | |

    that park has been very good to you

    Dan,

    Thank you for the update date range for the 1812 Button... and someone else had suggested the W was issued to commemorate his 100th anniversary of his birth...

    Thank you,
