Newby here waiting for detector in mail!

Well, I just put in my order for the Garret AT Pro and can't wait to get it. I am in Michigan and do lots of short travels with my two teenage children. I'll start in my back yard and go out from there.

Glad to find you all on this forum. Lots of helpfull tips and info, thanks!

oh, yeah. I ordered from Kellyco. Has anyone dealt with them before? They seem to be quite knowledgable and nice.....?

Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us here. You purchased a great detector from what I hear That wait for the UPS truck sure seems like a long time after ordering a new detector

Most of us here have dealt with KellyCo at one time or another. If you ever need to make another MD-related purchase in the future, you might want to check out Bart (Big Boy's Hobbies). I've dealt with quite a few dealers in the past and he has by far been the best in terms of price and service (which is why he's the sponsor here).

Good luck, and looking forward to seeing your finds!

Hello miltre and welcome to the forum and into the new hobby , once you start detecting you'll wonder why you didn't start it sooner lol lol , Kellyco is a reputable place to buy from but they are a bit pricey and the few free bees they throw at you are usually very cheap ones . As Epi-Hunter said our sponsor Bart has great deals and service . glad you joined up .

Welcome from SW Arkansas. I used my brother's AT Pro for a few hours earlier this summer. I'm going to stick with my White's XXX as my primary machine but thinking a AT Pro would would make a nice back-up or rainy day addition to this addictive hobby.

The AT Pro is a very good machine, so don't feel bad by choosing it. It has a lot of great features and once you learn it's language, you will be very happy with it. It is important that you enjoy and learn your machine. Picking good spots to hunt helps too lol It will be fun. You will probably have that machine paid for in one year or less. thumbsup01 I can't wait for your first good find

Ok, got my detector.....wow. Lots to learn! Took it out a few times and dug and dug for foil! Read the manual 5x and watched the DVD about 10 times. All I can do is to keep going out to learn the machine.
Not many beaches in my area. I did hit two small ones and got rained out both times. Patience is a must
I want to shoot for Lake Michigan beaches. Went to fair grounds today for a bit but was rushing to get my son from band camp.
    I'll keep you guys posted.
Been testing with different materials on my own.
Gonna take a while, that is for sure but I know once I get it done I am going to love this hobby!!!
