Tomita hori hori (dig dig) knife

Tomita hori hori (dig dig) knife, Japanese garden knife, stainless steel 7-1/4 blade, 1-3/4 wide x 1/8 thick, wood handle. Excellent digging tool, nice clean plug, left side saw (6 serrated to the tip), nice edge on blade and it holds the edge. Overall length of tool is 12-1/2.

Blade marked inch/mm (6/150mm), polished, well crafted digging blade. Enough curve in the blade for digging and lifting the plug... it is made for digging, cutting roots, etc.

The blade is not full tang, doesn't go full length of handle... tang length is 2-1/4 x 1 wide. I've seen no sign of weakness, don't think there will be any question of handle or blade breaking. Average width of handle 1-1/4 x 3/4 thick x 5-1/4 length.

Not exactly cheap, ($31.99 @ Amazon) but not expensive for a first rate digging tool.

Looks like a mean machine lol Not cheap but neither are the other types of digging tools. In my area, I probably wouldn't use it in a park. The cops would (or could) call it a weapon.

I would cut off my finger(s) for sure!

Have to agree with George... not a park tool, but looks really effective

I can't imagine that the wooden handle would last too long.

Is that blade about an inch and a half wide?
