CELLAR HOLE *SMALL OVAL US CIVIL WAR BUCKLE*SHOT COPPER

Got out with Todd today.we hit 3 new cellar holes.the 1st cellar hole bright & early.turn on my machine and very 1st target out pops a small oval US civil war belt plate! what a start to the day! thumbsup01
the cellar hole was sooo overgrown we had a tough time swinging.I got a battered copper next to the dirt road.i think i can see traces of the wreath on one side.either a draped bust or a matron head.
We decided that we will return to this site when frost kills everything.
we packed up and headed to 2nd site.not much there.i got a 1904 IH,1920 wheatie and a button.
3rd site gave up the tiny crotal bell with 2 letters.looks like H & B? could this be the makers mark? never dug one with letters up top on sides like this.usually a number is in this area stating the size of the bell.
was a great hunt.Todd did good too!

The belt plate looks awesome Dave and that tiny crotal bell I see gave you a nice surprise with the initials probably a makers mark . Pretty good day for both of us considering the overgrowth conditions. I will post my finds tomorrow, gonna chill and relax tonight. Call me if you don't work tomorrow

Great buckle Dave. I think those are the manufacturer's letters on that crotal bell. You should have stayed there lol
