    Joined the club today!

The fugio club that is! Finally made it back to the corn field my cousin and I started detecting last month. This field was home to a 18th century home and farm which are long gone. Also found my first Eagle I button which is a two piece and I believe the other two buttons are early militia.

Yes, you did join an exclusive club thumbsup01 America's first authorized penny, minted in New Haven CT. It's easy to tell the date, since they were only made in 1787 lol I'm not sure if the other buttons are military or not. The one on the left looks like a flat button (1800-1820's +/-) It is single plated (Gilt) button. I have found some of the second button before and just thought they were a fancy decorated button. So if you get any info on them being military I would love to know. Nice relics for sure.

Thanks for the comments!!! Now only if I can get in that elusive GW club... I think I'm just a little to far west for that though.

I can't wait until spring when they turn this field over again. It's really tough to hunt this field as they cut the corn stalks bout 8 above the ground. Swinging is rough and I know a lot of area is being missed.

You're probably right the Gilt button I may have jumped the gun on because it has an eagle on the b/m. I did read somewhere / sometime that the NY militia used those arrows on their buttons. I will try to track down that source of info. More than likely I could be wrong or mis-interpreted what I was reading.
