Any Ham Operators On the Site?

I'm an amateur (ham) radio operator (call sign K7KWN) and was wondering if anyone else on the site runs a rig and what band(s) you utilize. I run mostly VHF repeaters for search and rescue operations but hold a General license for other bands as well. Anyone else run ham?

My grandfather was OM (Old Man)... but now Silent Key (SK) ...deceased... It was fascinating to witness the chattering as a kid- the morse code... http://oldqslcards.com/w2zby.pdf Here's his profile active 1947-2003. He lived in Key West for many years. Good luck finding some Hams on here!

Tanacat, thanks for that story and link to your grandfather's 1953 QSL card! I love those old cards! Saddened to learn he is SK, he would have been fun to talk to and could have taught me a lot.
