    USA vs Europe MD Finds

    Ave All!

Sad to say that our country is so new, history-wise. We have some MD amigos in the Balkans that find some really awesome coins and artifacts for our shop. See below for pix.

How cool would it be for us/you to have the opportunity to detect grounds and fields that could produce ancient Roman finds like these?

This is what I'm talking about: Roman Bronze Lamp ca. 1st cent A.D.

Or perhaps authentic Roman military artifacts such as these rare 'manus' harness strap mounts?

Even better, how about a crossbow fibula/brooch like this one?

Or uncleaned Roman coins like these -

How fun would it be to MD where we could find some really old artifacts?

    Best to all,

    Kevin

I would love to go over the other side of the pond just once before I am unable to detect anymore It would be fun to uncover finds that I have no idea what any of them are

Our finds do not come close as those for antiquity but we do have our history ...ie. Revolutionary war relics Civil War etc so we can not find a Roman coin...but we can buy one fairly cheaply, try to buy a genuine CSA Belt plate and see what the cost is.

Or try to buy a US silver coin from the 1700s. Even the lowest condition US dime from the 1700s will set you back $800 minimum.

I spent about four years in Germany before I took up Mding but I loved seeing the history while I was there. The castle ruins and even the recent military history are amazing. My next trip will definitely include the detector.

Across the pond is history rich and would make a great place to detect one day.
For now the states is still a nice place to unearth our own history.
I'm just happy to spend time outdoors doing a great hobby.
