sweet hard times token & a very sweet Dragoons button

Got out this afternoon with my g/f Lynne to a new trashy cellar hole.truck parts in hole garbage cans but we squeeked out some keepers.she got (i never dug a eagle "D" button yet) a sweet civil war Dragoons button.I got a cool horseshoe bridle rosette,a fully gilted one piece waterbury button and a neat Hard Times token.never seen this one and don't have time to research it yet as I'm on my way out the door.open holes all over the place when we found it.pretty fresh holes too.I hope I see the person who did this !

Even got a miller for this. I thought this site gave a date but I don't see it.
    http://www.civilwartokens.com/Listin...Merchant-Token

    But with this:
    http://www.novanumismatics.com/numis...f-new-orleans/

Guessing it's either 1859 to 1862. Says the clothing line stopped in 1862 and their site stops at miller #20.

EDIT: you don't have time to research, or you are leaving it up to your research team, i.e. NECD and AD?

the token came out great Dave , the Dragoon button looks like it still has a bit of gilt hiding around that eagle and it looks pre-Civil War era to me . congrats to you and Lynne

Quality, not quantity. That's for sure! Love all of those items, including the bridal rosette. Token came out in great shape. Typically they weren't made with the more durable-type metals, and are quite toasted. Yours certainly is not. Congrats.

It's funny that you didn't even dig a plain flat button! Definetly quality over quantity! The dragons button is an ealry variety, Id love to see the backmark. The token is too cool, anything with the Louisiana pelican is beautiful. Congrats!!

Nice hunt Dave. That site reminds me of the one by Frank's old place. So many sites are so trashed. At least they left you a can to put the junk in.
