I decided to go hit a house that was built in the 1870's and is a museum which I have permission to hunt. It has been really pounded over the years and there is probably no silver left. So my strategy was to dig every low signal and hunt the edges. I dug a ton of pull tabs and can slaw but it was worth it! I dug 3 J.W. Mann tokens, two 10 cent and one 25 cent. Some buffalo nickels and my very first shield nickel, an 1868. The gold ring was definitely a surprise and really got my heart pounding. It was at about four inches the same depth as the tokens which date to around 1912.
