Two silver rings today......makes for a good day.

My buddy and I went to a small park in a nearby town today.

After a couple of hours of hunting I got a good target with a VDI# of 82.

It turned out to be a nice ring that really got my heart pumping......it looked like white gold with diamonds and a heart shaped stone.

After looking closer I see that it is marked 925, but has what looks like white gold flaking off of it .

Does anyone know if they plate silver with white gold?

Anyway, I start hunting again and only got about 25 feet when I get another good target (VDI# 71).

This turned out to be ring # 2..... a broken turquoise ring marked Sterling.

    I even found a watch today....my 1st.

Also found several dollars in clad.

All in all.... a great day today.

I went to the jewelry store today to see if these rings are worth anything.

The jeweler looked at them, said they are silver and then offered $3.00 for them.

So I guess the moral of this story is, don’t take your finds to a jewelry store if you want to know the real value.

Nice finds! Don't feel bad about the offer from the jeweler. I took that 10K ring with the 24 small (very small) diamonds in to see if they were real. He said yes and then offered $20!! I laughed all the way back to my car lol
