    New in Mississippi

Hello all. I just purchase a Garrett AT Pro and Garrett Pin Pointer. Only been out a couple of times for a few hours. Only found a 1987 quarter and an old belt buckle. Heading to the Bay St. Louis next week for a short vacation and am going to try to get out to the beach for a little while

Welcome again! Glad you got the coil to work on the Pro. The garrett web page has some good AT pro tutorial videos for getting acquainted with the machine. I still watch them every couple of months and find something to take away. Just remember to stick with it and with every outing you'll get better at knowing your machine.

Welcome culprit. I'm new to digging as well. Do yourself a favor and start looking up old schools, residences, and farms in your area. Old maps are almost always available so you can identify the oldest used plots of land. You might find that a town park was once a mill or business area. It's really cool to find out what your town was once like and, more important, you will get great ideas of places to detect.
