    Tumbled Brass

I decided to go through some of my stuff that I have had in my boxes of miscellaneous finds, brass buckles, rings, rein guide, decorative pieces and run them through the tumbler…and I was pleased with the result.

Many different types of buckles some similar to ones I have seen posted on relic sites. Please look at these and if anything jumps out at you that I should no more about please feel free to inform me. As to age, usage, style etc.

Nice small buckle with unusual latch.

I have seen these type several times in post, had the impression they were older style…may be wrong.

Nice looking buckle 2 ¼” long.

Odd brass piece and tiny buckle.

    Brass finials?

    Brass Rein Guide or Terret

    Assorted stuff.

Cleaned up very nice Tony! I have found some of them wide buckles and always thought they were horse harness buckle covers. Mine usually had dates from around 1879 on them. I would also call those top pieces finials too. Lamp pieces, decorative end of a handle, etc...

Also echo others' comments about the great cleanup job. Curious also on the media you used in the tumbler. Aquarium gravel and dish soap perhaps?
