    Mowed my back field,colonial surprise!

    Hi All,
Havent had much of a chance to really detect with work, family duties ect. Finally got around to cutting the back field. And grabbed my T2 for a quick spin before I had to take my son to baseball practice.Got a nice higher repeatable signal, dug down and out pops a copper!I had a feelin about this field, but never got around to cutting it to really check it over.I have detected my main yard quite a bit,but not the back field. It does border a stream, which has a lot of revolutionary history to it.I have heard talks of shillings being taken from the creek.Shortly after getting the copper,I got a high pitched signal, out pops this item I have no idea what it is.If anyone knows please chime in.Sorry bout the pic quality.Gonna spend more time in the back field this summer.

Wow, what a great yard you have! The copper is in nice condition too. The mystery item looks silver to me and very old. Perhaps a match safe or something similar? What does the back and bottom look like?

Lookin at a couple books, the one item it may be is a brush for musket gun, connected to a chain and on other side would be a pick for cleaning.

Tom , I'm not really sure what to make out of the silver item . To me it don't come across as Native American but maybe more as an item associated with a jewelry piece or pocket watch ( an elaborate winder part or a charm off a chain ) . Its an interesting piece to say the least.
