    New to forum

    Hello-

New to forum and need to get out detecting. I have a Garrett ACE 350 as my first detector. Practice in yard and on property around house and found lots of junk from construction of the house over 10 years ago that was buried.

I have a 21 acre farm down the road I intend on starting on next. Not sure I will find squat there since it was virgin land never before developed. If I am lucky maybe some old relics that may have been lost while someone in the past crossed over the land!

    Be safe-

Hello and welcome from Washington state. It's been my experience that every piece of ground has something man-made under the dirt. On a farm you'll find something cool, trust me. Plus back in your neck of the woods the history goes way back; the land is probably not as virgin as you might think. Good luck and post pics of your coolest finds.

    Welcome from Illinois!

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the finds from a farm field, especially in NC. Probably not a lot of quantity, but the objects you do find should be old. Lots of potential for old buttons, buckles, and even some stray coins.

Best of luck and be sure to let us know how you do!

Will do folks! I would only be lucky to find some Civil War relics!!! I will hit that property in the late fall after my last bush hog of the cleared section and when the copperheads and timber rattlers get a little slower to react!!!!

Welcome aboard from western MA. Yep if that farm is located anywhere near the old section of town, it will have some nice coins and relics. If you are real lucky, you may even see some Civil War relics there. I bet there are still some unknown areas that soldiers gathered many years ago. Good luck and keep us posted.

No personal experience here, but I'm told that freshly plowed soil brings untold treasures to the surface. Hit those areas if you can and welcome to the forum.

Welcome, and good luck on those 21 acres. That's a nice playground to have available. As stated, virgin grounds are ones that haven't been hit by a detector already! Post pics of what you find.
